There are many actions<\/strong> you can do in design mode using the SmartDancer<\/strong> Controller<\/strong> to preview how it might perform in a live production.\u00a0 We make them happen by using commands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The most powerful command is Formations<\/strong>. It causes the bots\/palettes\/avatars\/pose-ball<\/em> to change<\/strong> from the current position\u00a0 to the new position stored in a *formations<\/strong> note-card prefixed by the same name as the clicked-on formation, taking into consideration any previous Divisioning<\/strong>,Send, and Speed commands.<\/strong><\/p>\n

FORMATION SELECTION<\/b><\/p>\n

You click on the SmartDancer<\/strong> Controller and press the Formations<\/strong> button.\u00a0 This will bring up a menu offering up to 11 named formations that you have created.<\/p>\n

In this example we have selected STAIRSFRONT <\/strong>by clicking on it.<\/p>\n

This will be part of a sequence of formations we plan to use in a routine.<\/p>\n

FORMATION CREATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

We created this particular formation by pressing [Settings]<\/strong> from the\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Main Menu and then pressing CapturePosJR.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This produces a chat-log of the positions of the\u00a0 9 tall-bots.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Copy and Paste this line into the *formations<\/strong> notecard found in the SmartDancer Controller<\/strong> and pre-pend it with a NAME you want to refer to this position by followed by a comma [,].<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In this case we chose StairsFront.\u00a0 It will automatically be capitalized upon menu-display.<\/p>\n

Reset<\/strong> the SmartDancer Controller in order to read in the newly added formation and have it sent to the bots\/palettes\/poseball so that they know how to move when they receive a formation-name<\/strong> at design or show-time.<\/p>\n

The Reset<\/strong> is on a sub-menu command and accessed via the [Settings] button from the Main Menu.<\/p>\n

ACTIVATION ID<\/strong><\/p>\n

Activation Id<\/strong> tells the indicates which SmartDancer Controller<\/strong> will be receiving subsequent commands from the Artiste Performance HUD. <\/strong>This is necessary when there are multiple SmartDancer Controllers.<\/p>\n

It is also required at design time to match\u00a0a particular SmartDancer Controller<\/strong> to the bots\/palettes\/poseba<\/em>lls.\u00a0 Only design with either A thru I <\/span><\/strong>OR J thru R<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 Attempting to design with both sets at the same time\u00a0 will cause conflicts.<\/p>\n

If you choose bots labelled J thru R then you will need to make sure that the Id To Activate selected on the controller<\/strong>\u00a0matches the My Activation Id<\/strong> in the SmartDancer Controller<\/strong> or you may get an error.<\/p>\n

The My Activation Id is found in the *channel notecard inside the SmartDancer Controller<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0For the BLUE<\/span> <\/strong>controller it defaults to 2.<\/p>\n

ActivationId,2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bots are Copy\/Mod so you can copy them and make another set labeled A thru I<\/p>\n

I chose J thru R as your default set so as not to conflict since most people have already assigned A,B,C etc for palettes for other things.
\nI don’t recommend using SmartDancer Palettes for anything other than SmartDancer Formation moves<\/strong> and dancing as there will be conflicts trying to make standard\u00a0movers<\/strong> out of them as well, as an example.<\/p>\n

The 19th position of the name must be a letter between A and R.<\/p>\n

Since these will likely become Palettes used for dancing then it is suggested that you stick to standard palette naming.<\/p>\n
