They each do their own solos then return back into formation.\u00a0 The following example demonstrates just one of the many different types of Canon features of SmartDancer that exemplifies the soloing of the Canon feature.\u00a0 Watch the video: ==&gt;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/video==&gt;https:\/\/vimeo.com\/438205275\">Canon Finish<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also I may have been subconsciously influenced\u00a0by Aura Fitzgerald in my <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">imagination<\/span> <\/strong>with her rendition of her Penguins\u00a0dance routine.\u00a0\u00a0Watch this video ==&gt;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/149353086\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Easy as ABC &#8211; Penguinettes<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>==================<\/p>\n<p>First thing we always want to do is turn OFF hover text and make the SD Controller invisible.\u00a0 This is done thru the OPTIONS sub-menu.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_Hide.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2467\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_Hide.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"342\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_Hide.jpg 342w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_Hide-196x300.jpg 196w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 342px) 100vw, 342px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next we want to pre-pare a few settings.\u00a0 We would normally do these using commands at showtime using a notecard so that they happen automatically when triggered by a chat-command from the Artiste HUD AutoFX or other similar chat-command emitting HUDs, but for illustrative purposes we will show you how to use the SmartDancer Controller menus and buttons to accomplish the same effect\u00a0 since this is the method that was used to <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">experiment <span style=\"color: #000000;\">my<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">imagination<\/span><\/span> <\/strong>and discover IF this Bollywood effect could actually be done.<\/p>\n<p>The order of the execution of procedures\/commandsbelow does not matter.<\/p>\n<p>========<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonAnimationOverride.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2469\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonAnimationOverride.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The magic comes from experimenting and determining the ideal <strong>CanonDurationOverride<\/strong> also referred to as the <strong>CanonIntervalOverride<\/strong> so don&#8217;t be confused.<\/p>\n<p>To get to this setting choose [<strong>GROUPINGS]<\/strong> button from main menu then press the <strong>MoveSpeed<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p>It is simply the <strong>length of time<\/strong> that each Canon Solo Dance takes to complete their solo dance turn before executing a different animation.\u00a0 The OVERRIDE part comes into play because it OVERRIDES what is on the notecards inside the Animesh dancers as well as inside the Poseball Avatar Dancers.\u00a0 It has the highest level o f overriding. Recall that there are 3 levels of override. At the Animesh\/Poseball level, at the Controller level, and at the RUNTIME (in this case controller\/menu\/button) level which is similar to RUNTIME.<\/p>\n<p>0.2 is the perfect length of time to elicit the effect we want.\u00a0 0.1 was too fast and 0.3 was too slow,\u00a0 in my personal opinion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonIntervalOverrideRedisplay.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2472\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonIntervalOverrideRedisplay.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"344\" height=\"524\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonIntervalOverrideRedisplay.jpg 344w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonIntervalOverrideRedisplay-197x300.jpg 197w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 344px) 100vw, 344px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>========<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonAnimationOverrideDance.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2470\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonAnimationOverrideDance.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"346\" height=\"519\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonAnimationOverrideDance.jpg 346w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonAnimationOverrideDance-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>CanonDance<\/strong> is the dance that produces the effect you want to execute in this Bollywood-style staggered effect.\u00a0 It needs to be DIFFERENT than the initial dance that&#8217;s being done so that you can see the impact that it is a separate dance style.\u00a0 So above we see the special effect dance chosen was <strong>BenBhang8<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0 The Initial dance would have been something else.\u00a0 In our case we chose <strong>Bodi<\/strong> (<strong>*Bodhisattva<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonDance.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2480\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonDance.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"346\" height=\"521\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonDance.png 346w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_CanonDance-199x300.png 199w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>======<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrder.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2473\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrder.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"338\" height=\"521\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrder.jpg 338w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrder-195x300.jpg 195w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 338px) 100vw, 338px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Choosing the HOLD is essential to making this work otherwise the dancers would resume their pre-canon (backing) dance after the <strong>CanonIntervalOverride<\/strong> had expired.\u00a0 We want to watch the effect <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>repeat<\/strong> <\/span>UNTIL WE decide we want it to terminate manually while expermenting.\u00a0 There needs to be overlap and if it ended after 0.2 seconds then we would never see all the dancers in the special animation together.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>CanonOrder<\/strong> ($123495678) was implemented to insure that our middle (WHITE OUTFIT &#8211; me) dancer performs her routine in the proper order.\u00a0 She is number 9 (R of J-R) but we want her to perform 5th else she will appear to perform her animation out of order. (Note: She is lined up in the middle or 5th position).\u00a0 You will find out that most of the time, the 9th or R dancer works out better when he\/she is lined up in the middle of the other 8 (or 6 or 4 or 2) dancers.<\/p>\n<p>======<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrderAfter.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2474\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrderAfter.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"346\" height=\"521\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrderAfter.jpg 346w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_HoldOrderAfter-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>======<\/p>\n<p>So we are now ready to perform the routine.<\/p>\n<p>We start by choosing a backing animation.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>*Bodhisattva.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We let that play for a bit then we need to reorient the dancers in a straight line to show the effect aligned.\u00a0 We use a <strong>June<\/strong> effect to rotate the line of dancers.\u00a0 We use\u00a0 <strong>SetJuneLeft<\/strong>.\u00a0 (We have updated the junes so that they happen automatically now and assume the use of the previous formation since that&#8217;s usually what people want. It saves a step).\u00a0 If we wanted the effect to run backwards to front then we could have simply chosen <strong>SetJuneRight<\/strong>.\u00a0 Or more preferred is to set the <strong>CanonSequence<\/strong> (C Sequence) to <strong>REVERSE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_June_Left.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2479\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_June_Left.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"343\" height=\"529\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_June_Left.png 343w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_June_Left-195x300.png 195w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 343px) 100vw, 343px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>======<\/p>\n<p>Also make sure your Patterning is set to <strong>all<\/strong> the dancers if you by chance happened to set it to something else, otherwise do not worry about it.<\/p>\n<p>Example;\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong> j-r<\/strong> <\/span>or <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">jklmnopqr<\/span> or <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">all.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">They all do the same thing.<br \/>\n<em>(Note that the short-cuts, like\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>all<\/strong> <\/span>only have only been tested and insured to work, currently, when you have 9 dancers).<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>[Options]&#8211;&gt;[EFFECTS]&#8211;&gt;Target<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>======<\/p>\n<p>So after all the settings are made you are ready to execute the<br \/>\ncommand that sets the special effect into motion.\u00a0 A Canon (direction) command.\u00a0 Since we are doing <strong>Anims Only<\/strong> and no turns, then it does not matter which Canon (direction) command we choose.\u00a0 We will pick <strong>CanonHome<\/strong> since that seems to be the preferred choice of those who use it.<\/p>\n<p>So your settings should all look similar as they do below.\u00a0 You can use this as a checklist reference.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_FinalCanonMenu4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2486\" src=\"http:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_FinalCanonMenu4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"342\" height=\"526\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_FinalCanonMenu4.png 342w, https:\/\/artistedancediva.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CanonCool_FinalCanonMenu4-195x300.png 195w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 342px) 100vw, 342px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So to present the effect we will:<\/p>\n<p>1 &#8211; <strong>Start<\/strong> with <strong>Bodi Animation<\/strong><br \/>\n2 &#8211; <strong>JuneLeft<\/strong> to align dancers behind each other<br \/>\n3 &#8211; Start the Canon using <strong>CanonHome<br \/>\n<\/strong>4<strong> &#8211; StopCanon\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>=========<\/p>\n<p>Here is a reference to the SEQUENCER commands one might use:<\/p>\n<p>1 thru 4 can in executed in a sequence anytime prior to starting the routine<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">1,Hold | 0.1<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> 2,CanonOrder,$123495678 | 0.1<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> 3,Speed,-1%-1%0.2 | 0.1<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> 4,CanonDance,*Bodi | 0.1<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5 thru 10 can in executed in a sequence when you are ready to start and sync with the music<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">5,Dance,Bodi | 0.1<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 6,June,Left | 0.1<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 7,Canon,Home |\u00a0 ???<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 8,June,Right | ???<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 9,StopCanon |\u00a0???<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 10,StopAll | ???<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[Options]&gt;&gt;READ_SEQ \/ PLAY_SEQ<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A special application of the Canon comes from first imagining that it might be able to do something that you have seen done in real life then going about figuring out if and how it can be done.
