The 2nd most useful would be <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Move-To-Target<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Mass<\/span> is influenced by: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Gravity, Friction, Density, Bounciness<\/span><\/strong><strong><br \/>\nGravity and Density balance each other out meaning you only need to modify either one but never both when using <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Impulse<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Note: The palette when thrown, turns PHYSICAL upon initial release of a throw.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I usually just change <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Gravity<\/span> <\/strong>up or down. Usually <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">down<\/span><\/strong>, less than 1.0\u00a0 in order to make a loftier throw with more of an arc.<\/p>\n<p>A good starting point is an impulse vector of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>&lt;0,2.0,2.66&gt;<\/strong><\/span>,\u00a0 This will give you a near <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">45 degree arc<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 So this means setting the <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">ApplyImpulse<\/span> <\/strong>entry on the *thrower nc to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>&lt;0,2.0,2.66&gt; <\/strong><\/span><strong>and changing\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">SetApplyImpulse,on<\/span> will create a nice basic throw when you issue a throw1 command.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">ApplyImpulse<\/span> ,&lt;0,2.0,2.66&gt;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">SetApplyImpulse,<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">on<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Changing entries on the *thrower nc requires a reset of the Palette.<\/p>\n<p>There are Palette menu buttons for testing throw arcs by using the<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>ImpulseOnOff<\/strong> <\/span>toggle and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">ApplyImpulse<\/span> <\/strong>buttons.\u00a0 They do the same thing as the 2 *thrower nc entries discussed above<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Experimentation<\/strong> <\/span>is the best way to achieve a desire arc and landing point. Your 1st time will be the hardest. Then it will get easier and easier.\u00a0 Getting the <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">right impulse vector<\/span> <\/strong>is the\u00a0 hardest part of creating a thrower. Everything else is easier.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Non-Essential Background Info follows:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>An impulse of &lt;1.0,0,0 &gt; gives your Palette an INSTANTANEOUS 1-second thrust (momentum against center-of-mass) in an x-y-z direction of magnitude(size)\u00a0 x-y-z.\u00a0 In this case, &lt;1,0,0&gt; direction is in the local x direction.\u00a0 For the Thrower, we currently only use local coordinates (local is object relative).\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Would you rather be hit by a basketball going 20 miles an hour or a train going 20 miles an hour.\u00a0 If you answered basketball, then you understand magnitude.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are 3 ways to propel a thrower-object. 1) Impulse &#8211; mass-influenced &#8211; untargeted 2) Velocity &#8211; non-mass-influenced &#8211; untargeted 3) Move-To-Target &#8211; targeted We focus on Impulse because it looks the best but is also the hardest to create.
